The Other Pieces

Good physical health is the basis for the other facets of your wellness. Without good physical health it's difficult to pursue the others. You can't have total wellness in your life without incorporating all the aspects of health.

Mental Health

Your mental health is dependent on proper nutrition as well as exercise. If you're taking vitamins, minerals and some specific supplements that increase oxygen and blood flow to the brain, you're properly nourishing your brain.

It's also well known that by using your brain (exercising) you help it to stay healthy and grow. Challenging your mind with complex thinking and increasing your knowledge through learning, reading, communication and new experiences keep your mind in top shape.

Spiritual Health

Spirituality is something that is very personal to all of us. Most would agree that being healthy spiritually usually involves religion but even without religion we are all aware of a basic human spirituality which includes human qualities such as goodness, kindness, compassion and caring. It is when we have a clear conscience, that we experience a feeling of peace about who we are and what we stand for. Look inside yourself for the values you hold dear and then live true to whatever those values are. Only if we live true to our values will we be able to like ourselves and have others love and respect us.

Family Health

Good family health comes from good relationships. Good relationships come from quality time together, good communication and understanding. Many families today struggle to find that precious time together. Whether you are two working parents, one working parent or a single parent, finding that time to spend with your family is difficult.

The more time you spend with your loved ones the better your family health. Try to change your situation so that you can spend more time with your family. Working from home offers a solution for many, it makes all the difference in the world to be able to greet your children when they come home from school or attend the events they participate in, in school.

If you can't work from home, find a job closer to home so that you don't spend that precious time you could be spending with your family, staring through a windshield.

Social Health

When you have many friends, when your name is spoken with trust, when your home is a place people love to come to and when you're known and respected for your willingness to help others, then you are socially healthy.

As with good family health, good social health requires that you have the time and spend quality time with your friends. Many times your job requirements, your family obligations and your financial situation make it difficult to pursue good social health. As you improve your family health and your financial health, your social health will follow close behind, helping to complete your goal of total wellness.

Financial Health

Being healthy financially is more than just paying the bills and having a little extra cash. It's when we don't have to worry about a job loss or pay cuts, when our work doesn't take too much time away from our family, and when we're on our way to being debt-free, then we are financially healthy.

Your financial situation can cause a lot of stress and worry in your life or a lot of security. When your house is paid off, your savings and retirement funds are secure and your future plans are not limited by money, you have true peace of mind and financial wellness. Decide to be financially well. It is only a matter of commitment, hard work and dedication to get there.

Do you want to be healthy in all aspects of your life?
